Jaypee's Retina Atlas app for iPhone and iPad

Ophthalmology is the most technology driven disciplines of medicine. Rapid technological advances in the diagnosis and management of vitreoretinal disorders have had dramatic impacts.
For several decades now, the ophthalmologist have exploited great opportunities that a clear media of the eye provides to examine, study and document retina in health and disease using simple and complex techniques viz direct ophthalmoscope, indirect ophthalmoscope and the slit lamp biomicroscope using contact or non-contact lenses. Development of fundus angiography techniques and Optic coherence Tomography in recent years has changed the way we ‘look at’ retina.
Retina atlas –is a photographic journey through the beautiful and challenging world of Retina with over 2000 images of retina. The atlas aims at giving a visual insight into the various disorders of retina and their diagnosis. Fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, time domain as well spectral - domain high resolution optical coherence tomography, microperimetry, electroretinography, and B-scan ultrasonography have been included for the first time to provide wide ranging knowledge about various medical and surgical diseases of Retina.
An effort has been made to present a global perspective with over 100 contributors of repute, from across the globe.
No atlas/app can be a replacement for standard textbooks but we sincerely hope this app bridges the gap between a textbook and the practical reality in understanding of vitreoretinal diseases, and benefits all postgraduate students, vitreoretinal specialists and practicing ophthalmologist.
